Tom Duquesnoy Reveals He’s Out of His UFC 232 Fight Against Nathaniel Wood

The UFC will need a replacement for UFC 232 as Tom Duquesnoy has revealed he's been forced to drop out of his scheduled fight against Nathaniel Wood

A replacement will be needed after Tom Duquesnoy revealed that he’s been forced out of his upcoming fight at UFC 232 against fellow prospect Nathaniel Wood.

Duquesnoy, who had just recently announced plans to train at Team Alpha Male in Sacramento ahead of the Dec. 29 card, says that a pre-fight MRI revealed a medical issue that he has to deal with before being allowed to return to the cage.

“After different MRI and medical exams, an intercostal hematoma will keep me out of training for the next month and a half and unable to compete for the next fight scheduled for December 29,” Duquesnoy revealed on Instagram.

“We are working to re-schedule it for February and for now, it’s time for recovery and medical care.”

An intercostal hematoma would be a swelling of clotted blood in a muscle region around the ribs.

Duquesnoy has been rated as one of the top bantamweight prospects in the sport while putting together a 2-1 record thus far in his UFC career.

The French fighter had previously worked out of the Jackson-Wink academy in New Mexico but it appears a change was in order with plans to train with Team Alpha Male instead for this upcoming fight.

Now it seems Duquesnoy will have to wait for a later date to make his return to the UFC while dealing with his injury.

The UFC has made no official announcement regarding Duquesnoy being removed from the card or plans for a replacement opponent to face Wood on Dec. 29.
