Tatiana Suarez Open to Fights at Both Strawweight and Flyweight

Former 'Ultimate Fighter' winner Tatiana Suarez is more than ready to take on the toughest challenges including fights at both 115 and 125 pounds

Tatiana Suarez might be a future champion but it could be in two different divisions in the UFC.

The former ‘Ultimate Fighter’ winner, who just recently ran roughshod over highly touted prospect Alexa Grasso, is now one of the top 10 strawweight fighters in the world but her ambitions might take her beyond that weight class.

Suarez says that she’s all about facing the toughest challenges in her career and that’s why she’s absolutely open to fights at both strawweight and flyweight if the opportunity arises.

“You know what’s kind of weird, I was talking to one of my teammates and I told him I wanted to fight people in the 125 [pound] division and more so because I just want to fight whoever,” Suarez told “UFC Tonight”. “I just want to fight and get that experience. I want to be like the “Cowboy” [Donald Cerrone] that just goes anywhere and fights anybody.

“I love to compete. I’ll fight anybody at any weight class. I was thinking about going to 135 [pounds] when they didn’t have a 125 division so shoot, the 125 division is something I could wrap my head around more.”

Suarez might be willing to test the waters at flyweight but it’s likely the UFC will keep her focused on the strawweight division for now considering the kind of performances she’s had recently.

While she’s not ready for a title shot just yet, Suarez certainly appears to be a contender in waiting with a marquee matchup likely awaiting her when she returns later this year.

Now it’s just a matter of finding her an opponent after mauling the first three fighters to oppose her inside the Octagon.
