Ovince Saint-Preux vs. Dominick Reyes In the Works for UFC 229

A light heavyweight showdown between Ovince Saint-Preux and Dominick Reyes is currently in the works for UFC 229 in Las Vegas on Oct. 6.

Sources close to the matchup confirmed the news on Thursday following an initial report from BJPenn.com. The UFC has not announced the fight and nothing is official until bout agreements are signed and returned.

Saint-Preux looks to return to action with wins in four out of his last five fights including an arm bar submission over highly touted light heavyweight prospect Tyson Pedro in his most recent outing.

Meanwhile, Reyes is undefeated with a perfect 9-0 record including three wins in the UFC — all by first round knockout or submission.

Now Reyes will take a step up in competition as he faces his first top 10 ranked opponent as he clashes with Saint-Preux on Oct. 6.

UFC 229 will be headlined by a lightweight title fight with Khabib Nurmagomedov taking on Conor McGregor in his first fight back in nearly two years.
