Nick Diaz Focused on His ‘Return’ After Charges Dropped in Domestic Violence Case

Nick Diaz releases his first statement after charges were dropped against him on Thursday in a domestic violence case in Las Vegas.

Nick Diaz is ready to put legal problems behind him and focus on his return to fighting.

On Thursday, a judge in Las Vegas dismissed the case against Diaz after prosecutors opted not to move forward with domestic violence charges stemming from an arrest made back in May.

Diaz had always maintained his innocence in the case and attorney Ross Goodman was confident in the outcome, especially after a Grand Jury opted not to indict the UFC fighter last month.

Now the former title contender can move past these legal entanglements that have haunted him for the past few months. After the judge dismissed the case, Diaz released a statement via social media regarding everything that unfolded.

“I’m grateful this case is finally over,” Diaz wrote. “I want to thank my team and my lawyer Ross Goodman for the excellent work. But most importantly, I want to thank the fans who stuck by me throughout this process.

“I’m happy to put this chapter of my life behind me and I’m looking forward to focusing on my return.”

Diaz hasn’t competed in the UFC since 2015 when he faced former middleweight champion Anderson Silva.

There had been rumors that Diaz was working towards a return to action but then this arrest happened in May and it appeared to derail those plans.

Now it seems Diaz is ready to resume his career in mixed martial arts.
