WATCH: Daniel Cormier, Volkan Oezdemir Get Into Altercation Ahead of UFC 220
Daniel Cormier and Volkan Oezdemir shared more than a few words during a pair of altercations following their media day on Thursday and the action was all caught on tape courtesy of the latest UFC Embedded.
The situation started just as media day at Fenway Park was finishing as Cormier and Oezdemir started exchanging words before cooler heads prevailed.
The conversation picked up again at the host hotel for the event as Cormier started jabbing at Oezdemir over calling him a ‘zombie’ ahead of the weigh-ins on Friday. Cormier will be the first to admit that he suffers through a tough weight cut to get down to 205 pounds but he wasn’t having any of Oezdemir’s shots at him over it.
The altercation never escalated too far, although Cormier did have some fun shouting at Oezdemir’s team, who chimed in during the back and forth exchange between the fighters.
Elsewhere in the latest episode of UFC Embedded, Francis Ngannou meets fellow Cameroonian athlete Joel Embiid from the Philadelphia 76ers and probably for the first time in his career the top ranked heavyweight contender looked smaller than somebody else.
UFC heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic also goes through one of his final workouts and has some fun at media day alongside light heavyweight competitor Gian Villante.
