Vitor Belfort All Class Following Uriah Hall Fight Cancellation
It’s not been an easy day for Vitor Belfort, but he’s reacted to the news that his bout with Uriah Hall has been cancelled in the classiest way possible.
Belfort was the last man to hit the scales earlier today and he clocked in at 186-pounds for his scheduled retirement fight tomorrow evening at UFC Fight Night 124 in St Louis, Missouri. Unfortunately, Belfort’s scheduled opponent, Hall, didn’t make it to the scales and it was later reported that he’d been rushed to hospital following complications with his weight cut.
Thankfully, Hall is reportedly now in a stable condition and doing well at a nearby hospital in St Louis. Belfort, however, has been left high and dry without an opponent just 24-hours ahead of fight night.
Earlier this evening, Belfort reacted to todays’ events via his Instagram page:
“I dedicated 2 months for this training camp. Stayed away from my family and who knows me knows how hard this is for me. I spent all necessary to have the best structure to achieve my goal. My team had an intense dedication even during the holidays. I did all my fight week obligations, cut the weight and made the fight weight.
“Unfortunately my opponent had a problem during his weight cut, I wish him a soon recovery @uriahhall .Now I just want to go back home and see my family. Thanks for all the support along this training camp. Love you all!”
