VIDEO: See police cam footage of Jon Jones being arrested
Much to the dismay of Jon Jones, a new video has been released of the the reigning UFC light heavyweight champion’s arrest.
The biggest news of the week has, surprisingly, not revolved around the Covid-19 pandemic. While many of the MMA headlines have been dominated by news of the virus, the news of Jon Jones arrest took over, and now there is a video to accompany the story. Jones was arrested for aggravated DWI as well as negligent use of a firearm. Jones confessed to having driven under the influence of alcohol with the intent to continue driving.
In a new video, obtained by the Las Vegas Review Journal, footage from the arresting officer’s body cam was released, and can be seen above.

MMAnytt reached out to Jones’ management, who declined to comment. The UFC did, however, comment on the issue.
“UFC is aware of the situation regarding Jon Jones in Albuquerque early this morning,” the UFC statement regarding Jon Jones read. “The organization has been in contact with Jones’ management team and is currently gathering additional information.”
Unfortunately, Jones’ career has been marred by run-ins with the law. From drunk driving to a notorious hit-and-run incident, and even testing positive for banned substances. While few would dispute his claim to greatness inside the cage, his career will undoubtedly be affected by his many controversies.
