(Video) Brandon Vera KOs Mauro Cerilli + Robin Black Breakdown

Watch ONE heavyweight champion Brandon Vera knockout Mauro Cerilli in Manila earlier today.

He may have sat on the sidelines for nearly two-years, but ONE Championship heavyweight champion Brandon Vera made a statement this evening at ONE: Conquest of Champions.

Prior to this evening, Vera last fought at ONE: Age of Domination in December, 2016 when he defeated Hideki Sekine via first round TKO. The Cage Warriors heavyweight champion Mauro Cerilli stood in front of Vera tonight in the ONE Championship cage in Manila, but yet again Vera showed very few signs of cage rust and finished the Italian in impressive fashion.

Cerilli looked to push the pressure from the outset and marched Vera down winging in big overhand rights. Vera looked composed throughout though and easily slipped the slow incoming shots from the Italian and looked to counter with short hooks.

The finish came just over a minute into the oppening round when Cerilli looked for another overhand right and walked straight onto a left hand from the champion. The Italian looked to get back off the mat, but the referee had seen enough and the fight off straightaway.

Robin Black’s breakdown below shows how Vera expertly switched stances to land the left hand with enough power to send Cerilli to the mat:
