UFC Vegas 50: Santos Vs. Ankalaev – Fight Card & Info
Today, March 12, it’s time for UFC Vegas 50: Satnos vs. Ankalaev which takes place in Las Vegas, Nevada and will be held in the UFC Apex arena.
In the main event the former title challenger Thiago Santos will face Magomed Ankalaev. Ankalaev has impressed a lot lately and has amassed a winning streak of seven fights in a row and is currently ranked number six in the light heavyweight division.
His latest win comes against former title challenger Volkan Oezdemir at UFC 267 last year where Ankalaev won via an unanimous decision. This was his second fight in a row where he won via decision, but before that he has three impressive wins via finish.
Santos, ranked number five in the division, is finally back in the winning column after he won over Johnny Walker last year via unanimous decision. He entered the bout against Walker with a losing streak of three fights in a row where one of the defeats came against Jon Jones in a title bout.
UFC Vegas 50 offers several interesting matches!
In the co-main event, we get to see an awesome bantamweight clash between Marlon Moraes and Song Yadong. Moraes is in the worst slump of his career after losing three fights in a row. Song, on the other hand, has taken home two victories and has started to climb in the rankings.
We also get to see an interesting featherweight meeting where Sodiq Yusuff takes on former TUF participant Alex Caceres and before that it is offered an explosive light heavyweight meeting when Khalil Rountree Jr. against Karl Roberson.
The main card begins with an exciting middleweight meeting where Alex Pereira, who holds a knockout victory over UFC champion Israel Adesanya in kickboxing, will face Bruno Silva.
