UFC on ESPN+ 29 results: Glover Teixeira TKO’s Anthony Smith
The UFC returned with the promotions second event in one week. UFC on ESPN+ 29, live from Jacksonville, Florida, showcased a light heavyweight battle between former title contenders Anthony Smith and Glover Teixeira in the main event. Smith started off strong, controlling the distance, and even connected with a hard shot that caused a swelling around Teixeira’s eye. This seemed to ignite the Brazilian, who began working his way back into the fight, landing several hard overhand right hands.

Teixeira continued pressuring Smith, with the latter looking to be out of the fight in the fourth round. Smith survived to the fifth, but Teixeira overwhelmed him, forcing an end to the fight early in the last round.
The co-main event saw heavyweight Ben Rothwell score his second straight win, after edging out Ovince Saint Preux via unanimous decision. “OSP” made his UFC debut Lightweight dark horse Drew Dober lined up his third straight win via T/KO after finishing Alexander Hernandez towards the end of the second round.
