UFC legend Alexander Gustafsson returns to action at UFC 282!
Swedish MMA legend Alexander Gustafsson returns to action at this year’s final UFC PPV event!
Former title challenger Gustafsson returns to the light heavyweight division on December 10 at UFC 282, taking on fellow veteran Ovince Saint Preux. The fight will take place at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas. MMA Junkie were first to report the news by way of anonymous sources. No official announcement by the UFC has been made as of yet.
35-year-old Gustafsson will attempt to return to his winning ways for the first time since May 2017. The Swedish MMA legend has racked up four straight losses in two different divisions since 2017. Just a few years ago, “The Mauler” challenged Jon Jones for the light heavyweight title; however, the rematch didn’t live up to the hype of their first fight and ended in a TKO loss for Gustafsson. Following a second loss to Jones, Gustafsson went on to lose three straight against Anthony Smith, Fabricio Werdum, and Nikita Krylov. The bout against Werdum took place in heavyweight. Gustafsson lost by TKO in just over a minute when he took on Ukrainian Krylov at UFC London in July.
39-year-old Saint Preux is seemingly at the tail-end of his career, with two losses in his last three fights. In his latest outing, “OSP” defeated former UFC champion Mauricio “Shogun” Rua by split decision.
