UFC boss responds to “f***ing idiot” Colby Covington
Most people would not go so far as to openly threaten their boss with a violent act. However, Colby Covington is hardly known for staying within the norm. Known for brash remarks and controversial statements, Covington took it a step further, threatening to slap UFC president Dana White with the UFC championship belt. He is scheduled to compete for the welterweight title at UFC 245 on December 14th. Covington has claimed, though, he does not want White to place the belt around him should he win.
“I can tell you who’s not wrapping it around my waist, and that will not be Dana White,” Covington told Submission Radio. “If he tries to wrap it around my waist, I’m gonna take the belt from him and slap him in the face with it.”
At UFC Boston this weekend, White was asked for a response to these remarks, and did not seemed phased at all.
“Good luck with that,” White said. “He’s a big-mouth fucking idiot.”

Covington has seen an impressive rise in popularity. This is due to both in-octagon achievements but also his behavious outside of the cage. While he has been known for firing shots at fellow UFC fighters, he recently let loose on both the baseball team LA Dodgers but also NBA star Lebron James. Slapping his boss in the face, however, is probably not a good move for a long-term stint in the UFC.
