UFC 247: Jones vs Reyes Betting Tips, Odds & Preview
This weekend, the light heavyweight title is on the line at UFC 247: Jones vs Reyes in Houston, Texas USA.
The second PPV event of the year features perhaps one of the greatest light heavyweights in UFC history, Jon ‘Bones’ Jones.
This will be “Bones” Jones 22nd UFC career bout against No. 4 ranked contender, the undefeated Dominick ‘The Devastator’ Reyes.
Jon ‘Bones’ Jones puts his belt on the line again after successfully defending it last year in July in a split decision victory against Thiago Santos. Since his hitatus and return back in December 2018, Jones beat Alexander Gustafsson impressively via ground and pound, leaving no questions in the rematch, and then defeating the prospect Anthony Smith via decision.
Goat or Pound for Pound the greatest UFC fighter is in discussions.
Unbeaten, Reyes has 12 victories and is one of the top contenders in the division. The former American football defensive back has quickly risen to the top of the light heavyweight division in just six UFC fights after signing in 2017.
Reyes did not even need the second round in his first three fights as he wrapped up proceedings early with knockout wins. After going the distance in his fourth and fifth match ups, Reyes defeated former middleweight champion Chris Weidman in his most recent fight to demonstrate his physical versatility – striking his ticket to a shot at the light heavyweight title against Jones. The mix of Reyes’ speed against Jones’ finesse inside the Octagon ensures the fight is set to be a must watch main event.
Who to bet on UFC 247?
Well some say its stupid to bet against Jones, while simultaneously we know, all the greats will lose at some point. Question is if Reyes has the tools to beat Jones on Saturday night.
Jones insulted Reyes’ previously opponents by calling them cans, while Jones went through murders row during the last decade.
The truth is that Jones has a point, he faced much higher ranked fighters, yet some say there is indication of that Jones is slowing down, which we don’t believe in and our betting tips shows we are in favor of Jones.
Reyes is unbeaten, however his last fight was against Weidman, a middleweight moving up a weight class and his bout against Volkan Oezdemir, split decision victory was anything but flawless. He will have some problems against Jones unless he can finish Jones early.
