UFC 219 Medical Suspensions: Holly Holm Out Until March And A Possible Lengthy Timeout For Cynthia Calvillo

The medical suspensions have been published for UFC 219 and it could mean a lengthy period on the sidelines for Cynthia Calvillo

The medical suspensions for UFC 219 which took place this past Saturday have been released today and Cynthia Calvillo could be amongst three fighters who might not be cleared to fight again until July.

Holly Holm will be suspended until March 2, but that does open up the option for her to compete on the UFC 222 fight card which takes places on March 3. The winner of the co-main event, Cris Cyborg, seemingly came out the bout with no lasting injuries and is available to compete again when the call comes.

Three fighters who could face lengthy periods on the sidelines include Calvillo, Neil Magny and Omari Okhmedov. All three injured their left hands in their fights on Saturday and will have to be cleared by an orthopaedic doctor should they wish to compete again before July.

Edson Barboza has also been suspended until March 2.

  • Holly Holm: Suspended until March 2 with no contact prior to Feb. 15.
  • Edson Barboza: Suspended until March 2 with no contact prior to Feb. 15.
  • Carla Esparza: Suspended until Jan. 30 with no contact prior to Jan. 21.
  • Cynthia Calvillo: Must have her left hand x-rayed. If positive, she must be cleared by an orthopaedic doctor or she is suspended until June 30. She faces a minimum suspension until Feb. 15 with no contact prior to Jan. 30.
  • Neil Magny: Must have his left thumb x-rayed or an MRI. If positive, he must be cleared by an orthopaedic doctor or he is suspended until June 30. He faces a minimum suspension until Jan. 30 with no contact prior to Jan. 21.
  • Michal Oleksiejczuf: Suspended until Feb. 15 with no contact prior to Jan. 30 due to right eyebrow cut.
  • Khalil Rountree: Suspended until Feb. 15 with no contact prior to Jan. 30.
  • Rick Glenn: Suspended until Feb. 15 with no contact prior to Jan. 30.
  • Marvin Vettori: Suspended until Feb. 15 with no contact prior to Jan. 30 due to a tough fight.
  • Omari Okhmedov: Must have his left-hand fracture cleared by an orthopaedic doctor or his is suspended until June 30. He faces a minimum suspension until March 2 with no contact prior to Feb. 15.
  • Louis Smolka: Suspended until Feb. 15 with no contact prior to Jan. 30 due to a left forehead cut.
  • Mark De La Rosa: Suspended until Jan. 30 with no contact prior to Jan. 21.
