Tyson Fury finishes Deontay Wilder – After licking his blood
The much-anticipated rematch between Tyson Fury and Deontay Wilder went down tonight, following their 2018 bout that ended in a controversial draw. Now there was no doubt left as to who was the true winner, and the biggest star in boxing.
Deontay Wilder vs Tyson Fury 2 took place at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas last night, with the WBC, vacant The Ring , and lineal heavyweight titles on the line. Wilder opened with a hard shot, but his opponent managed to absorb the shot without taking too much damage. In the third round Englishman Fury landed a hard right hand that dropped Wilder. Wilder began bleeding from his ear, causing commentators to speculate that the American might have burst his ear drum.

While the American recovered, he was dropped once again in the fifth round – This time by a body shot. As the fight went on Wilder found himself on the defensive more and more, while the Manchester native continued to pour on the damage. In a bizarre occurrence, while the Englishman has his opponent against the ropes in the sixth round, Fury began licking Wilder’s blood. In the seventh round the referee had seen enough, as Wilder was backed into a corner and defending himself.

At 1:39 it became official, Fury was the new heavyweight champion. Despite som bad blood leading up to the fight, Fury showed much respect to his opponent afterwards.
“I just want to say big shoutout to Deontay wilder. You know, he came here tonight, he manned up, he really did show the heart of a champion. I hit him with a clean right hand and dropped him and he got back up and battled on into round 7. He is a warrior, he will be back, he will be a champion again. But, I will say, the king [Fury], has returned to the top!”
Fury was already endeared by many boxing and combat sports fans. He continued to win fans after the bout as he got everyone in the arena to sing “American pie” with him.
