Tyron Woodley Wishes Rory MacDonald Luck Ahead Of His Showdown With Gegard Mousasi
UFC welterweight champion Tyron Woodley has sent Rory MacDonald a message of good luck ahead of his Bellator MMA middleweight title fight with Gegard Mousasi this weekend at Bellator 206.
MacDonald was the last man to defeat Woodley back in June 2014 when he won a unanimous decision at UFC 174. Since then, the two men have gone their separate ways with Woodley going on to win the UFC welterweight title at UFC 201 in July 2016, and MacDonald beating Douglas Lima at Bellator 192 earlier this year to capture the Bellator welterweight title.
MacDonald will now look to capture his second Bellator championship this Saturday when he takes on Mousasi for the 185-pounds strap at Bellator 206.
Speaking to MMAFighting at the Bellator 206 media day, the Canadian was asked whether he missed the drama of fighting in the UFC. Of course, MacDonald said he didn’t and the video (posted on Instagram) sparked a response from Woodley who made it clearly that he felt similarly.

“I hate the damn drama!” Woodley wrote. “I just wanna fight! I’m jealous and envy what you said above. Best of luck my man. @MMAFightingdotcom”
It was recently confirmed that Woodley will go under the knife to repair damage done to his hand during his second round submission victory over Darren Till at UFC 228.
The procedure is expected to keep Woodley out of action for two to three months, thus it’s highly unlikely that fans will see him back in the Octagon before 2019.
