Twitter Reacts To Peppa Pig’s TKO Victory Over Bellator 206 In The UK And Ireland

Gegard Mousasi retained his Bellator middleweight title at Bellator 206, but UK fans were too busy watching Peppa Pig to see it happen.

Oh dear, oh dear, oh dear. Just when you thought Bellator MMA had got things right and treated UK fans to being able to actually watch their product live, PeppaPigGate strikes.

Bellator 206 went live at 3am this morning with the intention of showing the full main card and of course the champion vs champion showdown between Gegard Mousasi and Rory MacDonald.

Things looked to be going to plan, but unfortunately the event overran and that’s when the issues started.

As explained by British journalist Gareth A. Davies, it appears that the issue related to the OFCOM watershed which stipulates that no programmes rated 15+ can broadcast after 6am in the UK and Ireland.

As promised, Davies than asked Scott Coker about the issues at the post-fight press conference and the Bellator president wasn’t happy to say the least.

Hat tip to SevereMMA’s Sean Sheehan who started his Saturday off by watching his beloved Manchester United turn in another turgid performance away at West Ham.

Sean decided it would be a good decision to stay awake and take in Bellator 206 and unfortunately he wasn’t rewarded for his loyalty.

How about we just stream this on YouTube next time?
