So sad. KID Yamamoto was one of my favorite fighters. He was so fun to watch, and by far the coolest man to ever compete in MMA. He always looked so strong and confident, even in defeat. Rest In Peace, KID. https://t.co/qI9R3WrJzq

This is sad. Such a great guy, so many great fights, I loved commentating him in Dream and Dynamite. He will be sorely missed. God's finger touched him and he slept. RIP KID.

Norifumi Yamamoto was a pillar of not merely Japanese MMA or the kakutogi boom, but for a moment in time, the elite of MMA itself. Athletic swagger oozing from every pore. Highlight reel machine. Aggressive and efficient.
He is impossible to understand by his UFC run alone.
