Tonya Evinger Returns to Bantamweight, Faces Marion Reneau at UFC in Austin

Tonya Evinger will go back to 135 pounds for her second fight in the UFC

Former Invicta FC bantamweight champion Tonya Evinger will return to 135 pounds for her second fight inside the Octagon as she faces Marion Reneau at UFC Fight Night in Austin, Tex. on Feb. 18.

UFC officials announced the new matchup on Tuesday.

Evinger (19-6, 1 NC) made her UFC debut back in July when she fell to Cris “Cyborg” Justino by third round TKO after moving up to 145-pounds following a stint as bantamweight champion in Invicta FC.

Now Evinger will return to her regular weight class where she was unbeaten for nearly six years while rattling off 10 victories over that span of time.

As for Reneau (8-3-1), she will look to build upon her recent win over Talita Bernardo in September, which got her back on track following a draw against former title contender Bethe Correia earlier this year.

Evinger vs. Reneau is the latest addition to the growing UFC Fight Night card in Austin with welterweights Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Yancy Medeiros expected to meet in the main event.
