Tony Ferguson lashes out at Conor McGregor – Gets harsh response
A snide remark from Conor McGregor after UFC 249 sparked a heated online exchange with former interim lightweight champion Tony Ferguson.
Justin Gaethje took the UFC and MMA community by storm this weekend at UFC 249, capturing the interim lightweight title. It was the best performance of Gaethje’s career, though with every winner there is also a loser. The main event at UFC 249 saw Tony Ferguson get finished for the first time in the UFC, he lost his shot at the undisputed title, and the comments that followed from Conor McGregor didn’t make things better.
Ferguson and McGregor have snapped at each other before, both of them top contenders and former title holders in the UFC lightweight division. A bout between them has been talked about many times, and their latest exchange may very well speed up a potential fight.

McGregor began his message on Twitter with a seemingly earnest remark, however the tone took a quick turn towards harsh criticism.
I love Tony. We represented him amazingly at Paradigm sports and were betrayed for a promise of a baseball contract. But frame and preparation here was just embarrassing. His methods and conversation are humorous/enjoyable but he was never the level perceived. Although tough.

“I love Tony. We represented him amazingly at Paradigm sports and were betrayed for a promise of a baseball contract. But frame and preparation here was just embarrassing. His methods and conversation are humorous/enjoyable but he was never the level perceived. Although tough.” McGregor wrote.
Ferguson was quick to respond, taking jabs at McGregor’s own brand of whiskey and his absence from the sport.
“Conor McGregor You’re Still My Bitch. You Never Represented Me According to Audie [Attar]. If So Then You Worked For Me, & Withheld Money From Me. Focus On Putting The Bottle Down Kid. @BallengeeGroup Is Gold Standard, Must Be Hard Watching From The Sidelines. Keep It Up Chump -Champ.” Ferguson replied.
This sparked a response from McGregor, who emphasised the beating that Ferguson took by bringing up that it was national nurses day.
Shut up and thank the nurses and doctors that plated back up your skull and stitched all those gashes up.
It’s international nurses day!
And learn how to box!
Fumbling over your feet like a fucking Buffoon. We’d be embarrassed to represent that at Paradigm Sports.

As of now neither fighter has a bout booked. Though it stands to reason that Ferguson will be out on injury rehabilitation for some time, as he suffered a fractured orbital bone. McGregor has made it clear that he wants to return for a bout on Fight Island, perhaps now is the time for him and Ferguson to collide.
