Tom Duquesnoy vs Nathaniel Wood In The Works For UFC 232
UFC 232 keeps getting tastier and tastier and a bantamweight fight between Tom Duquesnoy and Nathaniel Wood looks set to be the next blockbuster fight added to the card.
Multiple sources close to Jim Edwards of MMANytt.com revealed that the fight is in the works for the UFC’s final show of the year going down at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada on December 29.
Duquesnoy (16-2) is coming off a win at UFC London earlier this year where he defeated Terrion Ware via a unanimous decision. Prior to that win, the Frenchman had suffered his first loss in over four and a half years when he was defeated by Cody Staman via a split decision at UFC 216. Duquesnoy made his UFC debut in April 2017 when he defeated Patrick Williams at UFC on Fox 24 in April 2017. The former two-weight BAMMA champion will now take his second bout of the year when he takes on the former Cage Warriors bantamweight champion on December 29.
Wood (14-3) made his UFC debut earlier this year when he defeated Johnny Eduardo at UFC Fight Night 131 in Utica, New York. The Brit picked up the win with a D’arce choke midway through the second round after weathering an early onslaught from the Brazilian in the opening five minutes. Wood will be looking to cap off an excellent 2018 having defeated Luca Iovine in March to defend his Cage Warriors 135-pounds title for the third time.
The UFC 232 fight card is now really taking shape. The main event was announced last evening with Jon Jones returning to take on Alexander Gustafsson. Champions Cris Cyborg and Amanda Nunes will also go toe-to-toe with the UFC women’s featherweight title on the line.
