On Saturday, July 25th, top Swedish bantamweight Pannie Kianzad will face former title challenger Bethe Correia at UFC Fight Island 3. It’s a high-stakes bout that can catapult the Iranian-born Swede to greatness and a top 15 ranking. Ahead of the bout, we have produced a special edition of our documentary series MMAnytt Focus: Pannie Kianzad, following the Scandinavian bantamweight and TUF finalist throughout her training and everyday life leading up to the fight.

Kianzad first got into the UFC after getting to the finals in The Ultimate Fighter season 28. She got to the finals after two strong showings including a decision win over Katarna Lehner. However, she would later be defeated in the finals by friend and team mate Macy Chiasson via second round submission. Kianzad then briefly let go by the UFC, earning a clear-cut decision win over France’s Iony Razafiarison, before making a short-notice return to the UFC. She took on red-hot prospect Julia Avila, and lost a decision after three full rounds. After that she racked up her first win in the UFC, winning a rematch against Jessica Rose-Clark via decision.
