Thiago Alves vs. Zak Cummings Scrapped from UFC Fight Night in St. Louis
A last minute injury has forced Zak Cummings out of his bout this Sunday night against Thiago Alves at UFC Fight Night from St. Louis.
UFC officials announced the news late Friday evening.
According to Cummings, he was in the middle of his weight cut when he slipped, fell and hit his head on the rail on his bathtub that obviously injured him enough that he would be unable to compete. With less than 48 hours remaining until the event, Alves will also be pulled from the card with no time to get a replacement opponent.
I’m absolutely fucking devastated right now. This one of the best cuts I’ve ever had and slipped while moving from the tub to the ground and cracked my fucking skull on a handrail. I’ve missed most of my 3 months olds entire life! You disgust me

It’s unfortunate news for Alves, who was also forced out of his last fight due to inclement weather from Hurricane Irma that kept him from competing last year as well.
The women’s bout between Irene Aldana and Talita Bernardo will move up to the FS1 preliminary card starting at 8 p.m. ET.
With Alves vs. Cummings scrapped, UFC Fight Night: Stephens vs. Choi will move forward with 12 total bouts from St. Louis.
