The Rock has a message for UFC fighters in tough times
Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson offered heartfelt support in his message to MMA and UFC fighters around the globe.
These are tough, trying times for many. Even if not at health risk due to the ongoing pandemic, many have lost their jobs or suffered other issues due to the current state of affairs. While not out of the job, many MMA fighters are sitting on the sidelines, waiting for an opportunity to fight. Many fighters are dependant purely on fighting for income, and while some have extra jobs as personal trainers or similar occupations, many are at a financial loss.
In a recent Instagram live session, former WWE star Dwayne “The Rock” Johnson had some words to share with all MMA fighters who would listen.
“To all the fighters in the UFC, MMA, and around the world – specifically the UFC because I’ve been really following them closely, Dana White and I are very good buddies – I feel for you guys not being able to fight,” Johnson said. “But soon enough, there’s a silver lining in this.

“Maybe it’s your training, maybe it’s your mental capacity that you could expand right now as you guys aren’t allowed in the cage as you’ve been shut down, but there is some silver lining in all of this and I hope you guys find it. Because when you come back, the velocity in which you guys come back, I expect to see some dynamite fights when you come back in the cage and I can’t wait. The moment I can be there, I’m going to be there cage side.”
Johnson is no stranger to MMA. While never having competed in it, he has been a fan for many years. As he states above he is friends with UFC president Dana White, and he has even played a role in UFC events. “The Rock” was involved in UFC 244 last year, in which he was selected to present the winner between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal with the inaugural BMF title. He has also been cage side for several UFC events and is prominently featured within combat sports circles.
It was a nice gesture for “The Rock” to send MMA and UFC fighters this message of support. Hopefully MMA fighters can get back to doing what they know and love sooner rather than later.
