Team Manny Pacquiao TRASH bout with “bum” Conor McGregor
It seems that a boxing bout between UFC star Conor McGregor and world boxing champ Manny Pacquiao isn’t likely – At least if you ask the latter’s team.
Rumours have circulated for some time regarding a potential bout between the two. In late 2017 Pacquiao teased a bout between the two, claiming that talks had begin, though nothing materialised. Then the rumours and reports began once again earlier this year when Pacquiao signed with Paradigm – The same management team that McGregor is signed under. McGregor seemed to welcome a bout with the boxing champion, though without garnering much of a response.
It seems that Pacquiao’s team is not interested, at least if you ask strength and conditioning coach Justin Fortune, who lambasted the very notion of a fight betweem the two.
“Why even make that guy rich? And it won’t do absolutely nothing for Pacquiao as far as his legacy [is concerned],” Fortune told The Manilla Times. “Remember, this is just my opinion. Manny goes down as the greatest fighter in history when he finishes, because no one has done what he accomplished in boxing,” Fortune told The Manila Times in an overseas call on Sunday, adding that it would be very unfair to Pacquiao’s fans for him to fight McGregor. Why destroy your legacy for a bum like McGregor?”

“Manny will destroy Conor McGregor inside the three rounds. He will obliterate him too fast and too strong as an amazing fighter. McGregor is nothing. I mean, my God, this is boxing, we are boxers. McGregor is an MMA guy and we can’t do MMA, and he can’t box that’s very simple,” Fortune added.
41 year old Pacquiao currently rides a three fight winning streak, including a win over top-notch talent Adrien Broner. He most recently defeated Keith Thurman via decision in July of last year.
McGregor returned to the UFC this January with a 41 second TKO blitzing of Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. Since then he has not returned to action, however, as he has not recieved the match ups that have intruiged him.
