Heavyweight champion Stipe Miocic and light heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier faced off for the first time on Friday ahead of their super fight showdown at UFC 226 on July 7 in Las Vegas.
For the first time ever, the heavyweight champion will take on the light heavyweight champion in only the third ever champion versus champion fight in UFC history.
Miocic is fresh off his five round drubbing of highly touted contender Francis Ngannou while Cormier made short work of Volkan Oezdemir on the same night at UFC 220 in January.
Now Miocic and Cormier are set to square off in one of the biggest fights of 2018 after the coach opposite each other on the newest installment of “The Ultimate Fighter” that debuts in April.
