See Israel Adesanya break down in tears after his UFC debut

"we’ve come a long way. Still got a way to go."

The sport of MMA can bring out strong emotions from the fighters involved. There is a huge adrenaline dump following the fight, paving the way for bottled up feelings to be released. While Israel Adesanya has an confident aura around him, even he can succumb to shedding a few tears at emotional moments.

Adesanya made his UFC debut at UFC 221 in Perth, Australia, February 18th, 2018. In his first octagon appearance he made short work of Rob Wilkinson, winning via second round TKO. It was nothing short of an excellent performance, and finally making it to the UFC was doubtlessly an emotional moment for Adesanya. In a video recently released, Adesanya is brought to tears leaving the cage after his UFC debut.

Less than two years after making his debut, Adesanya was crowned undisputed middleweight champion.

Adesanya will make his first title defence at UFC 248 this weekend, facing feared former Olympian wrestler Yoel Romero. Many see Romero as a nightmare match up for the newly crowned middleweight champ. Despite this, Adesanya asked for this fight after that his original opponent Paulo Costa was forced to withdraw due to injury.
