Santiago Ponzinibbio, Mike Perry Engage in Heated Face Off Ahead of UFC Fight Night in Winnipeg

Check out the media day face offs from Canada

The welterweight bout between Santiago Ponzinibbio and Mike Perry might not be the main event at UFC Fight Night from Winnipeg, but it’s certainly the matchup with the most heat on a very cold day in Canada.

Ahead of the fights on Saturday night, all of the main card competitors squared off following media day including Ponzinibbio and Perry, who meet in a pivotal matchup at 170 pounds.

Before they could even get to the middle of the stage, Perry was already barking at Ponzinibbio, taunting the Argentinian born fighter while also doing the ‘throat slash’ motion during the heated face off.

After UFC officials turned the fighters to face the cameras, Ponzinibbio smiled and did a crane stance from the movie “Karate Kid” and that earned him even more shouting from Perry.

“This ain’t “Karate Kid” boy, this ain’t a movie,” Perry yelled from across the stage.

As animated as that face off was, the main event was virtually the exact opposite as a stoic Robbie Lawler came eye-to-eye with Rafael dos Anjos for the first time as well. While the fighters weren’t interested in any pre-fight drama, Lawler and dos Anjos both have a lot riding on this matchup with the winner potentially being granted the next shot at welterweight champion Tyron Woodley.
