Internet meme “Salt Bae” calls out Conor McGregor AND Khabib
Nowadays, it seems like just about anyone feels entitled to compete in the octagon and that have resulted in some outrageous callouts. The most recent callout comes from the Turkish chef Nusret Gökçe, more known as the internet phenomenon “Salt Bae.”
Salt Bae became a viral sensation in early 2017 after a clip, showing him sprinkling salt in a rather peculiar way, was shared all over the world. But rather than fading into obscurity, Salt Bae has expanded his brand and now owns several restaurants all over the world.
Now, he feels ready for the next chapter: taking over the world of mixed martial arts!
In an interview with RT News, Salt Bae called out the UFC lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov AND former double champion Conor McGregor:
“McGregor, Khabib, everybody. I am ready,” Salt Bae claimed. “I respect too much, but one day if you invite me, I am ready for fighting.”

Salt Bae vs. Khabib?
Despite the intriguing callout from Salt Bae, McGregor is currently preparing himself for a UFC 246 showdown with Donald Cerrone on January 18, 2020. It will be McGregor’s first fight since he was defeated by Khabib over a year ago.
Khabib’s next opponent was also recently announced. The undefeated champion from Dagestan will take on Tony Ferguson on April 18, 2020 and it will be the fifth time the UFC will try to arrange a fight between them. With months left before Khabib and Ferguson will share the cage, the bad blood is starting to boil.
After McGregor and Khabib have fought their next opponents, they might want to consider taking on the 36-year-old Turkish chef.
