Ryan Garcia has made a bold statement: “I identify as a woman.”
Things got heated between boxing stars Devin Haney and Ryan Garcia before their fight this weekend. Haney and Garcia stood face to face at the Empire State Building in New York City and it didn’t take long for the bickering to turn into pushing.
This isn’t the first time Haney and Garcia have come to blows during their stare-down. This weekend, however, they will finally settle the score as Haney and Garcia meet in a fight for the WBC super lightweight belt. Watch their intense staredown in the video below.
Devin Haney vs Ryan Garcia
The title fight between Haney and Garcia will take place on Saturday night (US time). This is both fighters’ first fight in 2024, and unfortunately, it has been prompted by a lot of writing outside the ring.
Garcia has been making headlines for reasons unrelated to the big fight. In an interview with Andrew Tate, he admitted to being raped as a child and admitted to drinking and smoking marijuana.
Devin touched me without my consent im suing him for putting his hands on me
And I Identify as a woman
So he touched me as a Grown man and hit a Grown woman
And I’m lgbtq+
So now it’s a hate crime
Nah this is SO FUCKED UP 🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈🌈

His family has expressed concern for the young star, posting several startling videos and messages referencing his death. According to reports, Garcia was hospitalized for mental health issues in early March but was released after only a day.
On social media, Garcia has continued to post videos and various statements that have led people to question his state of mind. In one of his latest messages, after his stare-down with Haney, Garcia was unequivocal in his accusation of hate crimes and identifying as a woman.
– “Devin touched me without my consent,” Ryan Garcia wrote. I am suing him for putting his hands on me, and I identify as a woman. So he touched me like a grown man and hit a grown woman. And I’m LGBTQ+, so now it’s a hate crime. This is so sick!
