Floyd Mayweather set to face off against YouTube star

Floyd Mayweather is expected to fight yet another YouTube star, Deji Olatunji, before the end of the year. Deji is the brother of rapper-turned-boxer KSI.

“Money” Mayweather went undefeated in 50 bouts throughout an illustrious career. After officially retiring from the sport in 2017, Mayweather returned to the squared circle for exhibition bouts against most notably Logan Paul and the Japanese kickboxing star Tenshin Nasukawa. After the fight against Paul no winner was declared, however Mayweather had the upper hand against the much larger opponent. When he took on Nasukawa the result was a TKO finish in the very first round.

Deji has a less impressive record of one win and three losses, but thanks to his over ten million subscribers on YouTube he could still get the chance to face off against the boxing legend. Deji managed to get his hand raised for the first time when he took on YouTube colleague Fousey, whom he finished by TKO. During the same night, KSI faced off against two opponents and finished both bouts. The fight between Deji and Mayweather isn’t officially booked yet, but could happen in November and is set to take place in Dubai according to Mirror Fighting sources.

Mayweather last competed in May where he faced off against former sparring partner Don Moore in Dubai. In September of this year, “Money” will challenge Mikuru Asakura, an MMA fighter who competes in the Japanese organisation RIZIN, where he is a former featherweight champion. However, it is worth mentioning that Asakura has never competed in boxing previously. With a third fight on the horizon it looks to be a busy year for the 45-year-old boxing legend!

Another possible fight for Mayweather in the not so distant future is a rematch against UFC star Conor McGregor. Their first fight resulted in a record number of pay-per-view buys, over four million, and was a lucrative affair for both athletes. “The Notorious” is interested in a rematch, but UFC president Dana White isn’t as keen!
