Report: Johnny Walker returns at UFC 244 in New York

✅ Light heavyweight stand out Johnny Walker now seems to be on his way back, according to reports, for a bout with division staple Corey Anderson

According to new reports fan favourite Johnny Walker (17-3) is on his way back. ESPN were first to report that the UFC, according to their sources, is working on finalising a light heavyweight bout between Walker and Corey Anderson (12-4). The bout is slated for UFC 244, which takes place November second at Madison Square Garden.

These reports surfaced not too long after that Anderson called out Walker, and received a positive response.

“Wanted to dethrone the ‘King”‘ they want me to derail a train, thinks he’s ready for the big leagues, time to roll out the red carpet,” Anderson Wrote on Twitter. “You want the sauce?! Meet me in the land of opportunity, NYC, MSG, Nov 2nd”

Walker – the next big thing?

Walker has taken the division by storm, is undefeated in the UFC and has won all his fights in the promotion via first round knockout. First he finished Khalil Rountree Jr with elbows, then he knocked out Justin Ledet with a spinning back fist and punches. In his most recent outing he finished Misha Cirkunov with a flying knee.

Anderson is also on a three fight winning streak at the moment. He rebounded from a win-less 2017 by defeating Patrick Cummins, former title challenger Glover Teixeira and most recently Ilir Latifi. Many see Anderson as a well rounded test for Walker, who has yet to run into adversity in the UFC.
