Rapper Tory Lanez features Conor McGregor in song “Stupid Again”
From people imitating the millionaire strut to rapper Tory Lanez quoting him – Conor McGregor is officially mainstream.
It’s one thing for people in the MMA community to imitate and quote fighters. Once it happens outside of that regular space, that’s when things have reached a new level. It’s safe to say that Conor McGregor has transcended the sport of MMA, truly unlike any other, as he was recently featured in the Tory Lanez song “Stupid Again”.
The track is off the rappers album “The New Toronto 3”, which dropped April 10th. The song “Stupid Again” begins with the classic McGregor quote:
“I just want to say from the bottom of my heart, I’d like to take this chance to apologize – to absolutely nobody. The double champ does what the f*** he wants.”

That line is from McGregor’s victory speech following his TKO win over Eddie Alvarez at UFC 205. It was a masterful performance for McGregor, who finished Alvarez in the second round, winning the lightweight championship. McGregor became double UFC champion in that win, which played a big part in him transcending the sport of MMA and become a mainstream name. ‘
Earlier this year in the main event at UFC 246 McGregor returned to the UFC, facing Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone. It took just 40 seconds for McGregor to finish Cerrone via TKO, making the triumphant return official. While briefly linked to a bout with Justin Gaethje, the ongoing Covid-19 has put the breaks on any potential plans for another bout. As of now it’s hard to say when McGregor will return to the UFC octagon, and against who.
