Yan is one of the divisions hottest prospects, seen by many fans and analysts as a future title contender – and even potential champion. In less than one year he took the division by storm, winning five straight fights in the UFC. First he finished Teruto Ishihara via strikes, and then followed up with two additional wins before taking on two-time title challenger John Dodson. After three rounds Yan claimed a clear-cut unanimous decision victory, the same result would follow in his latest bout with top ranked Jimmie Rivera.
