Paul Felder opens as underdog in Edson Barboza rematch
The betting lines for the anticipated rematch between Paul Felder and Edson Barboza have been released, revealing the former as a minor underdog.
Last week the UFC announced a lightweight rematch between Paul “The Irish Dragon” Felder (16-4, #10) and Edson Barboza (20-7, #7), slated for UFC 242 in Abu Dhabi, september 7th. The two fighters first met in July 2015 at UFC on FOX 16 where Barboza won via unanimous decision after three entertaining and hard fought rounds, both fighters won the “Fight of the Night”-bonus.
UFC 242: Edson Barboza vs Paul Felder betting lines
Now, less than a week after that the fight was officially announced, betting lines have been released. The odds once more favour Barboza, painting a picture reminiscent of the first bout with Felder as underdog. Ohmbet have now released betting lines, with Barboza at 1.55 and Felder at 2.35.
In the main event at UFC 242 reigning lightweight champion Khabib Nurmagomedov will face off with interim lightweight champion Dustin Poirier in a unification bout. The odds clearly favour undefeated Nurmagomedov at 1.26 with Poirier as a sizeable underdog at 3.60.
Felder has only fought twice in the last two years due to injury. He’s won four out of his past five bouts and is coming off of a decision win over James Vick. Barboza has faced stiff, top 15-ranked competition, and has lost three out of his last four fights, two of them via T/KO. After scoring a TKO-victory over Dan Hooker in december last year he took on Justin Gaethje and lost via knockout.
