Paddy Pimblett Signs New Multi-Fight Deal With Cage Warriors
Cage Warriors have announced this evening that Paddy “The Baddy” Pimblett has signed a new multi-fight deal with the promotion and will headline their Cage Warriors 96 event taking place in Liverpool on Sept 1.
Pimblett had been linked with a call up to the UFC after the promotion announced last Friday that they would be visiting his hometown of Liverpool for the first time on May 27.
The Liverpudlian distanced himself from the event last Monday on Ariel Helwani’s MMA Hour stating that he was on holiday and had no interest in playing second fiddle on a fight card headlined by Darren Till.
Pimblett also stated that he had a desire to fulfil his promise of becoming a two weight Cage Warriors champion and said that he wouldn’t leave for the UFC until he had fulfilled that goal.
On a press release given to the attending media at Cage Warriors 92: ‘Super Saturday’ this evening, the promotion announced that Pimblett will feature in the main event of Cage Warriors 96 set for the Echo Arena in Liverpool.
On the same release, Cage Warriors also announced that they would be returning to London on July 21 for Cage Warriors 95 which will take place at London’s Indigo at the O2 arena.
