Paddy Pimblett Returns At Cage Warriors 90 And Moves Up To Lightweight

Paddy Pimblett will return at Cage Warriors 90 and will move up to lightweight.

Paddy Pimblett will return to the Cage Warriors cage on Feb. 24 at Cage Warriors 90 and will move up to 155-pounds to take on Alexis Savvidis at the Echo Arena.

The news was first reported by the Liverpool Echo.

Pimblett (13-2) was last in action back at Cage Warriors 82 when he was defeated by Nad Narimani for his Cage Warriors featherweight world title. Prior to that, Pimblett had put together a winning streak of 9 fights with wins over the likes of Julian Erosa, Johnny Frachey and Teddy Violet.

The Liverpudlian will now move up to 155-pounds and take on Savvidis (18-6-1). The Greek is currently on a two fight win streak under the Superior FC fight banner with wins over Gabriel Sabo and Nilson Pereira. Savvidis has faced one name UK and Irish fans will recognise, earlier in his career he lost to Paul Redmond back in 2014 via submission at Cage Warriors 70.

Savvidis will now fight in the UK for the first time when he takes on Pimblett in his own backyard at the Echo Arena in Liverpool.

Pimblett’s teammate Molly McCann will also feature on the card when she challenges for the Cage Warriors women’s flyweight, while Lee Chadwick defends his Cage Warriors middleweight title
