ONE Championship Announce New Japanese Partnerships And A Debut Event In Tokyo
ONE Championship today announced two new partnerships in Japan and will hold their first ever event in Tokyo in March 2019.
The news was revealed this morning by ONE Championship owner and chairman Chatri Sityodtong who took to Facebook to announce the news:
“I’m thrilled to announce that ONE Championship has partnered with Dentsu Inc, Japan’s largest multibillion dollar media and marketing agency, and Abema TV, Japan’s largest digital TV player,” Sityodtong wrote.
“ONE Championship will make history again with its first event in Tokyo, Japan in March 2019! I have massive plans for Japan. Stay tuned!!
On a personal level, it has always been a big dream for me to bring martial arts back to Japan and take kakutougi to the greatest heights in history.
“Most people don’t know that I am half Japanese by blood, and I am proud of my Japanese heritage.
“Japan is a land of warriors with a rich history of martial arts in Judo, Karate, Kendo, Sumo, Aikido, and so much more.
“I will do my best to show Japan’s greatness to the world. ??????! LET’S GOOOOO!!! #gratitude.”
The next ONE event will take place in Yangon, Myanmar this weekend on June 29 when ONE middleweight and light heavyweight champion Aung La Nsang defends his 185-pounds title against Japanese fighter Ken Hasegawa.
