Nate Diaz Reacts to Press Conference Brawl and Nearly Starts Another

“I’m a real fighter, not here to talk.”

The feud between Nate Diaz and Jorge Masvidal has reached a boiling point.

Chaotic Press Conference

On Thursday, Diaz and Masvidal met for the final time on their media tour promoting their boxing showdown on July 6. Previous press conferences had been relatively uneventful, but this one took a dramatic turn when Diaz left early, leading to a brawl between their teams.

Shortly after the brawl, Diaz spoke with Fight Hub TV about what happened and offered his reaction.

“I didn’t see [what happened],” Diaz said. “I was already gone. I heard his coach got beat up. That’s f*cked up… I’m a real fighter. I’m not going to sit here and argue and talk shit with people unless they’re going to do something, unless we’re going to fight for real. I’m not going to sit here and talk shit with each other and look at each other. It was time for me to go.”

Close Call with Masvidal’s Team

As if to prove his point, Diaz noticed Masvidal’s team on the other side of the hallway, nearly setting off a second round of brawling as the two groups moved towards each other.

“What the fck are you looking at?!” Diaz shouted. “Come down and get your fcking asses whooped again! Sorry motherfckers! Yeah, turn around, bitch! Pssy-ass, bitch!” Diaz’s teammate Chris Avila, who faces former UFC champion Anthony Pettis on the same card, was also present and shouting at Masvidal’s team during the incident.

Fortunately, security intervened, preventing any further mayhem from unfolding.

The Upcoming Fight

Diaz and Masvidal are set to face off in a 10-round boxing match on July 6 at the Honda Center in Anaheim, California. This fight marks their second encounter after their MMA bout at UFC 244 in 2019, where Masvidal won via TKO due to a doctor’s stoppage.

Both fighters have had illustrious careers. Diaz, known for his endurance and striking skills, has had memorable fights with Conor McGregor and other top fighters. Masvidal, famous for his quick knockout of Ben Askren, is looking to prove his dominance in the boxing ring.

The event promises a night full of action, with Chris Avila vs. Anthony Pettis as a key undercard bout.
