This lines up perfectly with Masvidal’s plans. This week he spoke out about a potential fight with Diaz, expressing excitement over a potential match up. He said that he would sign a fight contract “in a heartbeat”, and it seems the feeling’s mutual.

With the win over Pettis Diaz returned to the win column following a close majority decision loss to Conor McGregor back in 2016. Masvidal is coming off of two first round knockouts over Darren Till and most recently Ben Askren. Both fighters have a no-nonsense, fan friendly fighting style and a bout between these two fighters is one of the biggest one could book for the welterweight division.
