MMA Community React To Kelvin Gastelum's Vicious KO Win Over Michael Bisping

The MMA community has reacted to Kelvin Gastelum’s first round knockout win over Michael Bisping in Shanghai, China this morning. The former middleweight champion Bisping took the fight just three weeks after being knocked down and submitted by Georges St-Pierre in Madison Square Garden at UFC 217.

After not tapping to St-Pierre’s rear-naked choke and being put to sleep on Nov. 4, Bisping this evening suffered another ugly loss when Gastelum slipped an incoming punch and then knocked the Brit down to the mat with a beautiful one-two combination. Despite falling on his face, Bisping then took a further five blows on the mat before referee Marc Goddard to step in and call the fight off.

The ugly scene sparked plenty of reaction online and not everyone in the MMA community appear to be best pleased that Bisping was allowed to step into the Octagon again after such a short layoff.

Bisping wanted to fight. The UFC aren’t doctors. He had the option to tap as well as the option not to take the fight. As fighters we want to fight and make money. He liked the match up, just didn’t go his way. Had he won everyone would’ve been talking a rematch with GSP?
