Mike Tyson on Facing Jake Paul – “High on Life”
Tyson’s Fight Postponed Due to Health Concerns
In just two months, 58-year-old Mike Tyson will step into the ring against 27-year-old Jake Paul. Both Joe Rogan and Dana White, among other critics, have openly voiced their opposition to the fight, arguing that it should not take place. Regardless of differing opinions, the fight will proceed as planned unless unforeseen changes occur. The bout was initially postponed due to Tyson’s health, with the new fight date set for November 15 at Cowboys Stadium in Texas. The event will be live-streamed on Netflix, marking a historic moment for both boxing and digital platforms.
Originally scheduled for July 20 earlier this year, the fight has had months of buildup and promotion from both fighters. Tyson recently appeared on “Jimmy Kimmel Live” to promote the match and shared insights into his preparation.
Tyson’s Training Regimen
During his interview with Jimmy Kimmel, Tyson revealed that he has been rigorously training for the fight and is fully prepared.
“I train very hard, yes. I start training at 11 in the morning, and I leave the gym around 5,” Tyson said, detailing his daily routine.

Tyson explained that his day begins with boxing sessions, followed by an hour-long break for a massage. Afterward, he continues with strength and conditioning exercises. However, rather than focusing on Tyson’s training for the fight, Kimmel asked a peculiar question about Tyson’s infamous marijuana use, wondering if the boxing legend planned to be “high” during the match.
“I’ll be high on life,” Tyson replied with a smile.
Despite Tyson’s playful response, Kimmel pressed the issue, specifically asking if Tyson would be high on marijuana.
“That’s possible too,” Tyson answered, drawing applause from the audience.
Marketing the Event
As we all know, selling tickets to a boxing event is heavily reliant on marketing strategies. Appearances on talk shows, heated confrontations, and humorous remarks all play a significant role in promoting the fight, driving up interest and revenue. With over a month remaining until the scheduled fight, there’s still ample time for new developments, but as it stands now, Tyson vs. Paul is set to happen. Only time will tell what condition Tyson will be in for the fight and whether the event will proceed as planned.
