Mike Perry returns to the UFC for new fight with young prospect
An exciting new UFC welterweight fight is in the works that will pit Mike Perry against one of the division’s young guns.
Despite the chaotic state of the world, the UFC is continuing to produce world-class events and fights. In the month of June there are four events planned, and the final event, taking place on June 27th, recently got a new addition. According to ESPN’s Brett Okamoto, the UFC are working on a new welterweight fight between fan favourite Mike Perry and rising prospect Mickey Gall. The event will take place at the UFC Apex Center in Las Vegas, Nevada.

While certainly a fighter who pleases the crowd, Perry is in a tough slump at the moment. He has currently lost three out of his last four bouts and sits on a two fight losing streak. A decision win over Alex Oliveira is sandwiched between losses to many of the division’s best, such as Donald “Cowboy” Cerrone and Vicente Luque. He most recently fought at UFC 245, losing via first round TKO to rising star Geoff Neal. Perry has been involved in an on-and-off feud with British star Darren Till. Perry recently lashed out at Till, though since both now compete in different weight classes, a fight between them is unlikely.
Gall received a shot in the UFC after winning his pro debut via submission. He then lined up three straight submission wins in the UFC before losing a decision to Randy Brown. Gall has currently won two out of his last three bouts, rebounding from a TKO loss to Diego Sanchez with a decision win over Salim Touahri.
