Mike Perry Furious After Jake Paul’s “Prank Call”

Jake Paul tried to get a rise out of Mike Perry before they step into the ring. Paul (9-1) faces Perry (0-1) in an eight-round cruiserweight boxing match on July 20 in Tampa, Florida. The event airs on DAZN pay-per-view. Paul posed as boxing reporter Dan Rafael and asked Perry a couple of questions regarding their fight.

The first one was how he sees the fight ending, and the second was what he’s going to do when Paul “knocks you the f*ck out.” Naturally, that caused Perry to go on an expletive-filled tirade. Watch Perry’s reaction in the video below.

Leading Up to the Fight

Prior to this match, Paul is coming off a win by knockout in the first round against Ryan Bourland in March. Paul, known for his unorthodox approach and YouTube fame, has defeated former MMA fighters Nate Diaz, Anderson Silva, Tyron Woodley, and Ben Askren.

“When Paul vs. Tyson was rescheduled, I knew immediately that I wanted to still fight on Saturday, July 20,” said Paul. “Now, as I prepare for my fight against Iron Mike, there’s no better opponent for me than Mike Perry. He’s a proven knockout artist who has shown to be a maniac in and out of the ring. This is the perfect experience for me to gain in advance of facing Mike Tyson.”

Perry’s Response

Perry, the reigning “King of Violence” in BKFC, is stepping into the ring as a professional boxer for the second time. In his debut in March 2015, he was stopped by Kenneth McNeil in the fourth round. Recently, Perry TKO’d Thiago Alves in the first round of their bare-knuckle fight at Knucklemania 4 in April.

“Jake Paul claims he fears no man, but on Saturday, July 20, the world will see the truth: He just made the worst mistake of his life in trying to get through me before Iron Mike,” Perry said.
