Michael Bisping Prepares for Neck Surgery: “The Hardest Part Will Be Sitting Still”

Michael Bisping shares his thoughts on recovery and challenges after neck surgery.

Former UFC champion and current commentator Michael Bisping underwent neck surgery yesterday to replace a damaged disc, addressing long-term pain from a career filled with injuries. The day before the operation, Bisping shared his concerns in an interview with Gilbert Burns.

Anxious Thoughts Before the Surgery

“The hardest part for me will be having to sit still,” said Bisping, acknowledging the challenge of resting and following medical advice during his recovery.

A Difficult Recovery Ahead

Known for his high energy, Bisping expressed the difficulties of staying inactive.

“My wife keeps reminding me to follow the doctor’s instructions and not start training too early,” he admitted. “Sitting down and doing nothing is really hard for us fighters.” Despite the challenges, Bisping is committed to a disciplined recovery, emphasizing the importance of patience.

“It’s about being disciplined even when not in the cage,” Bisping explained before the surgery.
