McGregor and Muhammad Exchange Harsh Words After UFC 310 Exit
In the latest online spat between UFC stars Belal Muhammad and Conor McGregor, tensions have escalated following Muhammad’s recent withdrawal from the UFC 310 main event against Shavkat Rakhmonov. Scheduled for December 7, Muhammad’s welterweight title defense was highly anticipated but had to be canceled due to a severe bone infection in his toe, requiring him to receive antibiotics and rest for several weeks. This left the UFC scrambling to find a new main event or potentially reschedule the bout.
McGregor’s Response: Insults and Accusations
Conor McGregor, known for his outspoken presence on social media, responded quickly and aggressively to the news. In a now-deleted post, he taunted Muhammad with a series of laughing emojis, mocking his exit. McGregor’s comments included insults and demands that Muhammad be stripped of his welterweight title, stating,
“No fight. No money. But staph infection. Bum! Stripped instantly… infected fighter,” which was perceived by many as a particularly harsh statement.
The use of the word “bomb” was also controversial, given Muhammad’s Palestinian heritage and the current geopolitical context.
McGregor’s online outburst drew criticism for the timing and insensitivity of his remarks. This is not the first time McGregor has targeted Muhammad; earlier in 2024, he made similar comments when Muhammad teased McGregor for his absence from UFC 303 due to a toe injury.

Muhammad Fires Back
Muhammad did not stay silent. He responded by accusing McGregor of substance abuse, posting a photo of himself receiving medical treatment with the caption,
“I have this for antibiotics… You use needles because you are a junkie. We are not the same.”
Muhammad’s reply drew support from fans who see his comeback from injuries as admirable, especially after his recent title win over Leon Edwards earlier in the year.

The Road Ahead for UFC 310
As of now, UFC has yet to announce a replacement main event for UFC 310, with many wondering if Rakhmonov will remain on the card. Given the significance of the event and the lack of other headliners, UFC may opt for an interim title bout to fill the main event slot. Muhammad has expressed optimism about returning in 2025, but no official timeline has been set for his recovery.
This ongoing feud between Muhammad and McGregor continues to stir up attention, adding another chapter to UFC’s long list of personal rivalries. Whether or not their animosity will result in an official matchup remains to be seen, but for now, both fighters remain entrenched in their verbal battle.
