Jorge Masvidal and Kamaru Usman in altercation at Super Bowl
As if it wasn’t clear: UFC welterweight champ Kamaru Usman and BMF title holder Jorge Masvidal don’t like each other very much, something their recent altercation attests to.
The two have gone at each other, often indirectly in interviews and media scrums. Masvidal has time after time complained about Usman’s fighting style, calling him a “crotch sniffer” amongst other things. Usman has also downplayed Masvidal’s achievements, acting as if the latter doesn’t deserve a shot at his title.

Then, at the Super Bowl media day, things got heated. The two got into a verbal altercation, almost face to face, as Masvidal and Usman were doing interviews.
People intervened before things could get violent, but this altercation shows that there is legitimate bad blood between Usman and Masvidal.
This was somewhat predicted by Masvidal, who sent Usman a warning in a recent interview.
“He said it in an interview, he gets amped up, (and) he gets very excited when guys talk trash,” Masvidal told the Jim Rome show. “This is directly for Usman — I’m going to embarrass you from start to finish. I’m going to say it now so when it gets replayed 10 years from now, I’ll tell you I told you so. I’m going to embarrass you.
“Whether it’s on national TV or if I see you right now here today, wherever I see you, I’m going to embarrass you for the words that you have said.”
Neither Usman’s och Masvidal’s next fights are certain. There has been much talk of Masvidal challenging Usman for the title, though the former definitely hasn’t been in a rush, saying that the title will always be there.
