Mark Godbeer Inks New Four Fight Deal With The UFC
Mark Godbeer has had a frustrating few months, but he’s put that all behind now and has inked a new four fight deal with the UFC.
The news was announced this afternoon by his manager Gokhan Yildizli of Duello Sports Management.
Yildizli told MMANytt.com:
“I’m delighted to announce that my client Mark Godbeer has signed a new four fightdeal with the UFC. We’re currently working on the final details of Mark’s next fight and we will be announcing when and who that will be against in due course.”
Godbeer (13-3) is coming off the back of a frustrating summer. The Brit was originally scheduled to face Walt Harris at UFC 216, but the American was pulled from the fight just hours before the event to fill in as a replacement against Fabricio Werdum further up the card. Godbeer was then rebooked against Harris at UFC 217, but again the night ended in an unsatisfactory way when Harris illegally struck Godbeer and the bout finished with the Brit winning via disqualification.
Having gone 1-1 under the UFC banner prior to all the mess with Harris this Summer, Godbeer now has a 2-1 record under the UFC banner and the promotion has seen fit to reward him with a new contract.
Fans of the former BAMMA champion will no doubt be hoping he ends up fighting on the UFC London fight card set for March 17 at the London O2 Arena.
