Mark Godbeer and Luis Henrique To Make Light Heavyweight Debuts In Sao Paulo

Mark Godbeer will make his UFC light heavyweight debut on September 22 in Sao Paulo.

Two former heavyweights Mark Godbeer and Luis Henrique will be making the move down to 205-pounds for a showdown at a UFC event in Sao Paulo, Brazil in September.

Sources close to MMANytt.com informed us of the bout this evening which is set to take place on Sept. 22 at the Ibirapuera Gymnasium.

Godbeer (13-4) made the decision to move down to light heavyweight following a loss to Dmitry Sosnovskiy at UFC London earlier this year. The Brit had been riding a two fight win streak following two victories Daniel Spitz and Justin Willis, but will now be working with weight management specialists Combat Nutrition to make the move down to light heavyweight.

Henrique (10-4) is currently riding a two fight losing streak in the UFC following losses to both Marcin Tybura and Arjan Bhullar last year. Prior to those losses, Henrique has won two on the bounce in the UFC with victories against Dmitry Smolyakov and then Christina Colombo. The Brazilian was scheduled to face Timothy Johnson earlier this year but pulled out the bout in Feb. following an injury.

UFC Sao Paulo is expected to air live on Fox Sports 1 in America.
