Manny Pacquiao Eyes Mega Fight with Conor McGregor, Sponsored by Saudi Arabia

Pacquiao vs. McGregor: A Potential Saudi Showdown

Boxing icon Manny Pacquiao is eyeing a lucrative fight with Conor McGregor in Saudi Arabia. “Pac Man” ended his professional career in 2021 following a unanimous decision loss to Yordenis Ugas but has since participated in an exhibition match, with two more scheduled against Buakaw Banchamek and Floyd Mayweather.

According to Pacquiao’s manager, the former world champion’s brief retirement is over, and he’s seeking a new opponent for a professional bout. With Saudi Arabia’s sponsorship, Team Pacquiao believes a match against the biggest star in MMA could be arranged, provided the UFC agrees.

Conor McGregor, on the cusp of a UFC return, faces frustration over the delay of his fight with Michael Chandler. UFC President Dana White has assured fans of McGregor’s return, but timing disagreements persist. Rumors suggest McGregor has one fight left on his current UFC contract, opening the door for a historic boxing match later this year.

“Technically, he’s not retired anymore,” said Gibbons in an interview with BoxingScene.

“It would be sensational in Saudi Arabia – let’s do it! It’s a great place to make it happen,” continued Gibbons.

“His Highness Turki Alalshikh loves big galas and always organizes the best ones,” explained Gibbons.

Dana White has promised fans that McGregor will return to the octagon later this year, but they seem to disagree on the comeback date.
